Sketchable Artisan Spotlight: Dan Flores
“With Sketchable, I am able to concentrate on my favorite part of creating: the drawing and sketching.” Dan Flores, a full-time artist working in digital and traditional media, works on a wide range of art from private commissions for corporate illustration, to freelance projects for mobile games and animations, even delving into personal projects like city murals and comics.
Dan first came to Sketchable because of its ease of use and affordability. “I was already creating digitally with Illustrator and Photoshop, but Sketchable brought me closer to the simplicity of drawing on paper with pencils and markers.” He also loves the flexibility of Sketchable, installing it on all his Windows 10 computers, because as he says, “I must have options to draw on any of my devices!”
Sketchable is not only useful for professional tasks but also for Dan to hone his digital drawing craft. Before Sketchable, digital art involved a mouse or Bamboo tablet to vector illustrations on Adobe Illustrator or navigating the overwhelming menus of Photoshop. “I can easily pick my tool, the pencil, and adjust the thickness and opacity to fit my sketching style. Sketchable has allowed me to feel at ease when drawing on a tablet or computer by keeping the UI simple and to the point. I like that a lot!”
Moving forward, Dan has many projects in production, from comics to mobile games, all drawn on Sketchable. As a life-long learner, Dan hopes to continue educate himself on new tools and materials, pushing his talents to the level of other professionals while producing art that is distributed in various mediums. “My motivation is to create art as good as those artists I admire.”
